Really Lovely Singing Opportunities

The Quayside Chorale Community Choir, Par

The Quayside Singers are based at Cornubia Community Hub in Par,  31 Eastcliffe Road, Par, PL24 2AQ. We meet every Tuesday from 7pm to 8.30pm

We are a singing group for all ages and abilities, no auditions and no previous experience necessary just a desire to sing. If you sing in the shower, have private rock star moments in your car or go large when singing happy birthday, you can sing with us and we would love to have you.

We sing a range of songs from rock and pop to country, folk with arrangements created specifically for the group by myself Emma Mansfield and Martha Woods. We sing in harmony and we sing in unison and we make a pretty good sound but always love to welcome new recruits. We perform at Christmas and during the summer months and generally have lots and lots of fun.

We start off with a physical and vocal warm up, and sing rounds and play rhythm games, then we crack on learning songs by call and response and we provide lyrics and practise tracks via dropbox and sound cloud.

We charge £10 for the session, or pay what you can for those on a low income. Our practises are 90 minutes long and that pays for the room hire, our time and preparation time and the resources as Martha and I are both self-employed musicians email to find out more here

Rodeohead Country Ladies Choir

We are a joyous chorale of ladies and we meet every Sunday at 3pm in the Oasis Studio at Lostwithiel Community Centre. We sing country songs, bluegrass and folk music and perform during the winter and summer season.

This group is for developing and confident singers and led by Emma Mansfield with Martha Woods. The sessions offer a lot of vocal exploration, voicing and breathing exercises and we provide backing tracks to practise at home and lyrics. We welcome new singers and our back catalogue of songs is available via soundcloud.

The sessions run from 3pm on Sundays and cost £10, this covers room hire and the time for Martha and I and our preparation and arrangement times.

We have lots of fun and make a great sound and we look forward to welcoming new members and developing all of our voices and joy of singing - come an join us and unleash your inner cowgirl! Email me here for more info.

The Glad Sounds of Christmas, Diaspora Choir

We meet every winter to reinvigorate and learn carols from the Cornish Diaspora. These songs left Cornwall with the miners and their families who left during the Cornish migration in the mid 19th Century.

The sounds are sung in four part harmonies and we welcome beginners. We offer sheet music but also audio tracks so you can learn at home. You do not need to read sheet music to take part.

This year, during November 2025 we will be rehearsing at St Bartholomews Church, Lostwithiel, on Saturdays the 8th and 29th November from 11am to 4pm and we have a concert on Saturday 6th December at 7.30pm

If you would like to take part drop me an email here and I can send you all the rehearsal tracks, schools and more information. Songs are available via Dropbox and Soundcloud. Rehearsals are £10 or pay what you can.
